Jack Kirby Birthday Tributes

Sunday (the 28th), Jack Kirby would have been 99. To celebrate his birthday, a whole bunch of artists produced some cracking Kirby-esque tributes. Check out a few below.

Jack Kirby’s influence on comics is so vast it cannot be summed up in a few sentences. The man was a king among artists and even now, when confronted by  his original pencils, I believe he would be just at home in today’s comic industry as he was back when. Although his career wasn’t entirely without sadder times, Jack Kirby still managed to co-create some of the most important characters in comics today, I’m sure all of which will still be about in another 99 years.

Some of the following art is for twitter’s #WakeUpAndDraw, art created for the Hero Initiative site,  some is just for fun. The WUAD pieces will eventually be auctioned  for the Hero Initiative from today (Tuesday 30th).
